After a year - solar panels by ReVision Energy

Despite the lack of state incentives in Maine, my spouse and I decided to have solar installed for our house. In May 2014 ReVision Energy installed a 3.64 KH solar array (14 panels) on our garage, located about 30 yds from the house. They evaluated the best way to install the meter (which turned out to be on the house), dug the trench for electrical cable from the garage to the house, and installed the 14 panels on schedule and on budget. ReVision offers American made panels and inverter, which we purchased. The panel orientation on the garage was not perfect -- tilt=20°; azimuth=240°; skyline heading=164° -- so the panels are not at a high tilt and face a little west. 3,693 kWHrs of production were predicted in the quote. After a year of operation, the panels are hitting this mark as measured by Central Maine Power and by the inverter, despite being buried under the snow for much of the winter. A higher tilt was offered by Revision at the time of installation, and we did not take it, but it probably wouldn't have made much difference. The predicted output is being met regardless. Wireless access monitoring of the inverter is possible but the garage is out of range, so one my favorite activities is to go out to the garage and “check on the solar,” that is, watch the savings grow. ReVision Energy was recommended to me by a local friend who also had solar installed, and I have strongly recommended them to others. If you are considering solar, my suggestion, as found in other reviews here, is to go for it now despite the lack of state incentives, and to get a quote from ReVision.
