I shopped around with 3 solar companies - 2 of them much larger outfits than AM Sun Solar. While the larger outfits were able to offer the most aggressive leasing and financing programs, they had a cookie cutter approach using their own systems, focused on selling me more than I needed and fell considerably short in answering my questions to best understand my individual needs as well as longterm benefits. Mark Miller of AM Sun Solar is very sharp, in a league of his own and worth the price of admission. He presented an array of options - microinverters vs string inverters, different solar panels for my applications (quality, efficiency, warranty...) pg&e rate plans (and how they work), and overall costs so I could make a better informed decision. I then understood purchasing (with 30% tax credit) to be by far my best longterm solution and found my own financing with payback to be ~ 7 years (even sooner with inevitable PG&E annual rate hikes). After committing the process went smoothly - they took care of the permitting and PG&E applications and met the given schedule of completion. In fact I had my system activated a month ahead of someone I know locally who recently installed solar with a larger outfit even though they committed 2 weeks prior to my project. I highly recommend getting a couple quotes from more than one company - suggest you include AM Sun Solar so you can evaluate for yourself.
