Pleasant Experience

I am a serious geek and pretty critical on how craftsmen do their jobs. I was looking for solar power and a friend gave me Horizon's number without any particular recommendation.<br />The salesperson we dealt with was straightforward and honest about what he could/could not do and what we should expect. Did I mention I'm also very critical of salespeople? This guy passed and we signed up. First star.<br />The installation came in phases. I expected to see 4-5 guys all day for the panel install phase, I got three guys. To my amazement they were a true team and swarmed over my roof for about four hours and were finished. They said no to refreshment offers but one did very politely ask to use the bathroom. Second star.<br />Next phase was a new electrical panel and array wiring. Again, fast and efficient but took time to answer my questions about how to wire in my own sub-panel for the garage. Also walked me through the safety issues with the main panel. Third star. <br />Much sooner that originally estimated it was time for inspection. The Horizon guy got there early and told me what to expect, then the county inspector arrived. He was soon ready to sign off on the installation but did take time to tell me that it was one of the best installs he'd seen in quite a while. That from a government inspector with no dog in this fight. Fourth star.<br />After we'd been on line a few weeks, I got a call from SunRun asking if I'd be willing to assist in re-booting the monitor meter they had installed to keep track of array performance as per the lease agreement. Seems it hadn't called home as it was supposed to. I agreed and another week or so along they called back and let me know someone from Horizon would be by to look at the monitor. When the Horizon guy arrived, he took 'the easy way out' and simply replaced the monitor system rather than just reporting it as kaput and asking what SunRun wanted to do. Thinking ahead is a great way to get done faster. Fifth star.<br />At every turn, Horizon (and SunRun) made an extra effort to keep me informed, live up to their commitment, and respect me and my property. You don't see much of that these days.
