Purchase of solar system

I classify myself as a consumer who researches any large purchase item before I decide to buy from a particular business and in this case I spent over two months to research the residential solar panel business. I looked at both the advantages and disadvantages of installing such a system on my home. Several people that I work with had solar panel systems installed in their homes within the past year and I constantly asked them questions regarding the process they went through from their initial sells call, their installation, turning on their system, and after several months of use what they thought about the benefits in reducing their electrical reliance on our area electrical service provider. All of them went on lease plans and each had varying amounts of time from their initial sales call to turning on their system (this varied from three to five months). A couple of my friends even asked me if they could refer me to their sales people who worked for one the nation's most advertised solar panel companies. After finishing my research, I found two companies that I contacted for sales presentations and I went ahead and told my friends to refer my name to their solar company. The first company representative gave my wife and I a very thorough presentation of their services and very competitive pricing in both purchase and lease options. The second company that came to my home was SolarMax represented by Marvin and Jeran. Both of these gentlemen were professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about their company and product. They answered all of the questions I had prepared ahead of time in simple layman terms giving me complete answers rather than vague explanations open to assumptions. The most important points from the SolarMax product is this company makes their on panels and not a third-party installer, they offer their own financing if you decide to purchase at very competitive rates when compared to other finance companies or banks. All of the people that we dealt with from Marvin and Jeran, the engineers, the finance personnel, the two crews of installers to the customer service people were some of the most professional, helpful and attentive employees who sought to meeting/answering the needs or questions my wife or myself had. We had our sales presentation on a Sunday evening, officially signed our purchase contract two days later and from approving the engineer's plans for panel installation to completing the install the whole process only took less than 60 days, all we are waiting for now is for the electric company to give their official notification (PTO)to turn our solar panel system switch on (about two weeks or less at the most). This is by far a faster and much smoother process than any of my co-workers who dealt with another company. If you are considering installing a solar panel system to your home, please do your research, ask other people who have systems already and consider contacting the company that I am strongly recommending on this site...SolarMax. If you do decide to contact them, I know you will get the information you need to make your decision, you will be dealing with good and knowledgeable professionals who will always treat you with respect and courtesy because they really understand that you and I are the "customer". They do not in anyway attempt to pressure you into making any decision until you are satisfied and ready to make that decision. I am so pleased with my overall experience with this company and its employees I will gladly speak or email anyone with more detailed information (just contact SolarMax and they have my permission to give out my contact information as a reference source). They may not be the only company out there that can provide the same great service but they are the company I decided to deal with and I am one truly happy and satisfied customer!<br /><br />John Pablo
