When we began our research into solar energy systems, we contacted several companies. Mike Kelley was more responsive than area competitors and worked with us to develop the type of system that would best suit our needs. He patiently helped us as our ideas evolved, even though it required numerous trips to our home and quite a few different cost proposals. We had insufficient roof space to produce the amount of energy we wanted and eventually decided we would like a system that would tilt and track the sun's movement. Competitors we had contacted tried to dissuade us from using a tracking system; one claimed trackers were "glitchy" and would require frequent repairs. Mike, on the other hand, researched and located a Vermont manufacturing company with years of experience in tracking systems, a solid reputation for service, and a great warranty. Although he had not yet installed a tracker himself, Mike worked closely with the Vermont company to install and adjust the tracker to tilt and follow the sun to provide the maximum amount of energy possible. By using the tracker, we did not need as many solar panels as a fixed system would require. And we do not have to manually tilt the panels; the tracker does it all. Mike's price for the system was better than those quoted by competitors for systems that would not produce as much energy! His attention to detail and follow through to ensure precision tracking were superb. Our system was installed on July 1, 2013. We used air conditioning extensively during the summer, and now in the colder months, use electricity to keep two rooms very warm for our elderly father. Yet we still have a credit with NStar and have yet to pay for the electricity we use. We highly recommend Mike Kelley and Mass Renewables!
