BP Solar

I had a 10Kw ground mount system installed through Home Depot Solar (Pottstown, PA), the installer from NJ used 48 BP3215B panels on two ground mounts. His engineering was not up to PAR, since 24 of 48 supports sank up to a half a foot in the ground after a rain storm. I was concerned that the mis-alignment of the structure might place undue stress on the BP3215B panels. BP never commented or addressed this concern. 18 months later I observed a discoloration and solder blur on one panel, installer, Home Depot and BP Solar were contacted. Not one thing was done from June 2012 until November 2013, a new replacement panel was measured and ordered from BP Solar. The replacement panel was not a BP panel but a Canadian Solar Panel. Also before the panel was replaced in Feb 11, 2014 the BP3215B glass covering cracked into a thousand or more pieces in January 2014. The installer of the Canadian panel observed the discoloration a guessed the panel had shorted causing the 1000 pieces of the cracked panel. Another technician called the discoloration "burned" so many pseudo answers are available.
Its good that BP Solar is going out of the business, so some future customers will not be screwed by BP-Solar.
BP3215B panels were/are available from installer ion the East Coast, yet my Canadian panel was shipped from California.
BP Solar is not a nice company to deal with, the Oil spill raised some doubts which I ignored and got "screwed"!!!
Three years into their 25 year life and the panels do not reliable shed snow, need to manually remove to make electricity.

BP3215B

10 Kw solar array installed 2010, 48 BP3215B panels.
So far one has shown a physical appearance defect out the 48.
BP3215B S/N 041003219A6FF07 has rust like growth around the positive output connect.
Instrument test by Solular, LLC technician said it appeared to be producing within limits, however appearance is troublesome!

Good

Solular, LLC (Out of Business)

In 2010 Solular,LLC did a 10Kw ground installation finished in August 2010, In October 2010 after a rain, more than 50% of the concrete footers sank up to a half-foot. The installation was NO longer level, straight or NON-Wavy panels.
Two years later I advised them that a Slar Panel was discolored, a Junction box broken by the upwards press from the sinking array. The promised to fix it, NOW in September 2013 I still have the same conditions. The grunts were nice, the engineering questionable and the 'Principles' (Long's) downright nasty!
