Tesla Energy

I can't stress enough how displeased I am with this company. I purchased my home with an existing solar PPA on the property. I felt odd about the situation, but my wife and I love the home so we decided to absorb the agreement. This company is taking advantage of people so badly, I wish I could go back and not buy my home. That is saying a lot, because I absolutely love my home. Here is the thing about the way this works... If you have a perfect roof for solar that will get a ton of exposure and there is enough space to produce what is necessary you may be okay with this type of agreement. (Only if you like the price they will have you paying for production, and don't plan to move for the next 2 decades). If your house is like most, you have a couple key areas on the roof that they can utilize. So they will size a system however they see fit and dazzle you with the "Savings", which really aren't great (i.e. I saved about $7 in June 2016). Now you might be saying to yourself "Well that's $7 you didn't have before", but what you don't realize is that even if it saves me $100 per year, They are getting all of the solar credits that come in quarterly. (Things I wish I knew prior to buying the house). So, basically they sold a dream to the previous owners of all this saving and gave the bare minimum amount of panels (Costing the company the least amount possible to install) and now they are getting 20 years of tax credits and quarterly solar rebates. Effectively robbing thousands of dollars from my household. They charge you every month for you production at a set rate with annual increases, all the while your city electric bill is racking up like crazy. after a full year or "Relevant Period" you get a nice shiny bill of in my case $1300 and change, that I now have to set up a payment plan and still pay throughout the year to try and offset the damage for the years to come. Do you think they want to provide good customer service and get your production up to actually save you money? Not at all. They say, well we can set up a 2nd system for an additional 20 years that will be billed separately every month as well. So, I can allow them to come and put more panels on (Which should have been done in the beginning) and pay double my solarcity bill and still pay the city electric every month or I'll still get a bill for somewhere in the neighborhood of $700 next year. I can opt to buy after 5 years at the price they deem fair market value (Which I'm sure they'll say 20k on an 11 panel system because let's face it, it's a friggin scam for 20 years). Not only does it not save my household significant money, but it also makes it a gigantic pain to try and sell if I want to do that.

Please, if you are really interested in going solar, look into a good company like Solar4America or something and get a quality system financed. It will benefit you so much more, and will actually add value to your home.
