I had panels installed on my roof by CST in August/September of 2014.
Since then, my expenses for electricity from PNM, when averaged over a year, have actually been negative, since over a year's time, I get more for production from PNM than I pay for net power usage.
Just the other day we had a terrific hailstorm with large ice crystals falling hard for about an hour. I didn't know what to expect in regard to solar panel damage, so I was delighted that there was no visible harm done to them and the power production since that event has been the same as usual.
