If you are thinking of going solar in SC, I recommend Alder systems.

Craig Knowlton at Alder 'sold' me my home solar project. He used web-based global imaging to estimate how many panels I would need to generate 95% of my electricity costs (in an all-eclectic home). And provided the cost information. Basically, the savings in electricity I gained, along with tax breaks, would offset, over a 10 year period, the borrowed cost of installation. So he said. I wondered if he was accurate. He was, I now estimate. In fact, I postponed this review until I could confirm that he was right about the energy yield of my solar system, etc, and he was: 95% of my consumption is covered and so is my loan. Thanks Craig!

And also a BIG shout-out to the installation crew, Jonas, Josh, and Stu. Real professionals, witness the install, and great guys to talk to as well. And to Max, the 'project' manager who patiently answered all of my dumb emails.

I feel great about this, partly because I'm generating energy, and also because it was a pleasure to deal with these guys....... read more
