Update. When I wrote my post on 6/11/16 I was asked by the sales person (Samuel) and that I would receive a bonus. Not sure what the bonus was I felt at the time he/Solplicity deserved it. I believe Samuel is a good guy but unfortunately did not provide any type of bonus. I was not looking for anything big but pretty much just wanted to help him with providing positive feedback on him. Samuel is the sales rep. and I hold nothing against him on my current issues with Solplicity.
Here is my problem(s) with Solplicity and" project manager " Kat Iglupas and her supervisor Shane Robbins. So let me take you on my long and winding road on my problems with that I have with Solplicity and their assigned team that everyone should be aware of.
First of all, I am only writing about my experience with Solplicity. At first I was happy with the installation of the panels with the acceptation of one of the panels that was not even with the surrounding panels. In addition they installed two grounding rods 6" away from my house an into the concrete sidewalk. If you think that''s bad, they left me without power for 29 hours. That is correct, 29 hours. Even in the worst power outage that occurred a few years back that lasted only 6 hour. But 29 hours without electricity. Unacceptable in my book. I also was forced to take another day off of work that didn''t go over well with my employer. This was due to Kat''s scheduling with the County inspector.
To make a long story short, after the aftermath of having NO power for 29 hours, we were told by Soplicity Agnes Konopka their subcontractor Verango paid the $132 fee to SDGE. When I contacted SDGE, they stated they did not receive the fee. Another lie. They (Verago) didn''t pay the fee for another two weeks. According to Soplicity they Verago waits to pay the fee in bulk. Confirming the lie told by Agnes Konopka. I saved all the emails to make sure the true is told without embellishment and will be more than happy to share them with anyone who is thinking about as a solar provider.
Lastly, for now, I requested $1000 in compensation for 29 hours without electricity (Although they provided a LOUD generator that could not be left on because the outage occurred over night). The generator only powered the frig and freezer and ONE light. So no TV, internet or any other electronic devices could not be used. I also justified my compensation because I had to use unscheduled leave from my employment, And they were not happy! I think the $1000 request for the aggravation, stress and food loss was fair.
According to Patsy Vazquez they sent a $100 gift card and that was it. I have the email from her that I will post rejecting the compensation of $1000. I figure $1000 is fair because they offer anyone you recommend sign for solar a $1000.
In closing, I will not be recommending anyone to sign up for solar with Soplicity. If anyone needs follow up proof. I saved all my emails. Oh, by the way, they don''t like emailing. They always want to talk on the phone in which I stated on a couple of emails that was my preferred communication because it would protect either party if matter like mine were to flair up as they did. They still called!!!!!!!
I hope the review helps other to make the correct choice when choosing a solar provider. Good luck!
My compensation request rejection email below:
Thanks again for bringing your concerns to our attention.
We reviewed your case in detail and have done our best to facilitate a solution.
Unfortunately, we have no control over either the utility or the city which caused your initial issues. We do follow up and look for improvement opportunities with the cities and utilities that we work with, but as you know we cannot tell them what to do. As a good will gesture, we have sent you a $100 gift card to alleviate some of the hardship. I do have some good news - namely, I''ve been informed that the $132 application fee to the utility for Permission to Operate has been submitted and received by the utility.
I do hope you are pleased with your decision to go solar and appreciate the gift card. We are excited to get you up and going, for you to start saving money, and help the environment. If you have further concerns, you can of course reach out to the city, utility, or Verengo directly.
As always, I''m available to you as well, but I unfortunately cannot offer you more for the acts of these third parties.
