Years of trouble-free electricity!
Allan has been maintaining our very old (installed in 1985) PV system for many years, and with his help it's been extremely reliable and low-maintenance. In 2019, we realized the system needed more than just a new set of batteries. So he undertook the first really major overhaul it's ever had, and now the technology has mostly joined the 21st century, which is exciting. Even during the overhaul, he made sure to stage the project so that everything was seamless and the old components continued to work until the new ones were all set to go. I always feel very confident that, even if I don't understand the technicalities of each aspect, he does! The review form here requires a date >2000, so I am putting 2019 since that's the most recent date that he's done major work on our system, just to be clear.

Sindelar Solar came very highly recommend in my neighborhood, were almost everyone has solar power. Allan was able to see what we needed and find a system that really works for us!

Delightful to work with
Anyone who has seriously researched off-grid solar PV has probably come across the name of Allan Sindelar. His iconic article "Toast, Pancakes, or Waffles" (found online and in print) is a must-read for anyone contemplating off-grid solar electricity. We first encountered Allan in 2013, before he "retired" from the company he founded. He designed and installed a solar PV system for our remote off-grid home. He listened to our needs and wants, carefully explained the capabilities and limitations, and designed a system to fit our budget. Installation was on schedule and in budget. Subsequently, we contacted Allan for support in his new persona of Sindelar Solar. He answered questions by phone over the years, and recently performed a massive upgrade including replacement batteries and doubling the size of our PV array. We couldn't be more pleased with the result.

Allan comes highly recommended from anyone that has used his services to design a new installation or just maintain an old system. I wanted a highly reliable system with quality parts from reputable manufacturers. I first made contact with Allan looking for a quote for new batteries for my 10 year old system. after an hour phone conversation, Allan had exposed many other upgrades my system should have to make it safer and to code. He was quite informative and very professional. I quickly realized he knew a world more about solar power<br />than I had even thought of. OFFGRID MASTER
Allan Sindelar with Sindelar Solar is an excellent solar contractor. He has 20+ years of experience which in the solar world is quite a long time. His specialty is off grid design and installation. He recently completed an upgrade to my 30 year old very "old school" system. It required a lot of design work, retrofitting of existing components and the addition of new panels, monitoring and charge controller. It longs great and works flawlessly. Thanks Allan!!!
