Avoid this company!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY NO MATTER WHAT! They installed our panels and did such a bad job that our brand new roof started leaking. They were unresponsive and gave us the run around. When they finally got someone out to look he blamed it on a vent installed by the roofer (a top notch roofing company that has had a stellar reputation in our community for decades). The roofer showed me the corners that the solar guys had cut in their installation including caulking around the footings of the panels instead of correctly flashing them. As soon as the caulk broke down, as it does after a year or two, our roof started leaking. I never write reviews but I am so disappointed with this company on every level that I wanted to spare others the frustration of working with them. My advice is to avoid these guys at all costs.

I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM HELIOPOWER INC.
I believe Heliopower [HP] to be dishonest and unethical. If you are looking for trustworthy ethical customer service I think you should look to another company. I found trustworthy missing from the lexicon of HP. During April 2017, I obtained a judgment, in Superior Court San Diego, of approximately $6,000 against HP when I alleged fraud, misrepresentation and breach of contract. I proved Heliopower installed a solar system with less KW output than the size I purchased. Because these systems are so ambiguous, and we rely 100% on the integrity of the company, it took me a long time to figure out to simply look at the KW output of the inverter and compare that to the KW purchased. HP refused to fix the system or give a refund to the size they actually installed. After the judgment was entered, HP refused to pay the Superior Court order of damages. HP then declared bankruptcy and discharged my judgment. HP now refuses to provide the lifetime monitoring promised in my contract; basically telling me to pound sand. I believe every consumer should stay away from this company and avoid the aggravation of Heliopower.

Beware
Their salesperson was gung-ho through the signing of the contract. He then disappeared. The installation crew was very good, but it took an excessive amount of time to get the system running and City of San Diego Building Department approval. They failed to pay their subcontractor and my house had a mechanics lien recorded on it. They released no money to their roofing sub until they received payment in full from me. I held money pending system approval and operation. Absolutely no response from the company. Also, the safety sign for the fire department identifying the location of the equipment was incorrect. That took 4 months to correct. It was not a pleasant experience.

Solar was installed. Final inspection was completed and final payment made, last Wednesday. Thursday afternoon, power suddenly dropped to 50%.<br />Thursday evening, stopped working completely. Called Friday morning, they were closed left message. Called Saturday, closed, called Sunday, closed. Called Monday morning, said they would call back at 8:00. No call back. 4 phone calls later, they said they would try and get someone to "Stop By".<br />I paid $25,000.00 for this ?<br />I am calling a lawyer.<br />This is NOT the way to treat paying customers...felt like they took money and ran.
